  • Save the date:  The Elementary/JH Christmas Concert will take place on Wednesday, December 12th in the Auditorium.  Doors open at 6:00 – come early to view the student art exhibition and enjoy holiday treats being sold by the PTO.  The concert will begin at 7pm.  Note: Students must arrive by 6:30.  Dress: (girls) White blouse, black skirt, black tights, red accessory; (boys) White shirt, black pants, black socks and shoes, red accessory.
All: The SB Parent/Teacher Organization is selling Christmas wreaths for $25.  Order forms are available in the office.

    Local Tree Lot needs help!  Two students are needed to help unload and set up a Christmas Tree Lot. Work is Friday, Nov. 23 only and pays minimum wage. 16 and over only to apply.  Please call Elsa at 443-5825 if you are interested.

    ALL: Housing is needed for visiting basketball players for a JV/Varsity Basketball Tournament on Dec. 13-15, 2012. Please call Steve Thrap at 599-9668.

    HS: HealthSport has a job opening for a high school student, supervising young children while their parents work-out. The position is for afternoons and weekends. Please call Dessie Baxter at 443-3488 for details.

    All: Knights wear on sale until Dec. 1. Please fill out a form in the office. Shirts and sweatshirts will be delivered by Dec. 21. Thank you 8th grade class!

    ALL: Crusader and Knight cinch sacks are for sale $7 each. Makes an excellent stocking stuffer. See Mrs. Giacone for more info.

    Elementary
    ALL: Student Body cards are now available for free! But, to receive free admission to school sporting events, discounts to dances, and other upcoming events, purchase an ASB sticker in the office.  $15 gets you into sporting events for free!  $10 for grades 5-8

    High School

    ALL: the sophomore class is selling crusader license plates. $3 each or 2 for $5. You can buy them in the office or from any sophomore class officer.

    Sons of Italy Western Foundation

    Scholarship Programs

    The Sons of Italy Western Foundation and the Grand Lodge of California, Order Sons of Italy in America, are proud to provide college scholarships to eligible students. These scholarships range from $500.00 to $5,000.00. Additionally, Italian Language Study Grants are available for a one-month complete immersion course in Italian language at an Italian College.

    Eligibility

    Scholarships will be awarded to students graduating from public or private high schools in California, Nevada, and Klamath Falls, Oregon. Applicants must be wholly or partly of Italian ancestry. For the Italian Language Study Grant, applicants must also have completed a foreign language course in high school. Selection will be based on scholastic record, activities evidencing leadership, financial need, written personal goals statement, Essay of Italian Origin, and letters of recommendation. Applications for the Italian Language Study Grant must be submitted separately, including being placed in a separate envelope, from any application for a college scholarship.

    Elks Most Valuable Student Competition


    The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2013 competition.
    • Any high school senior who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to apply.
    • Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks.
    • College students are not eligible to apply.
    • Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; permanent legal resident status does not qualify.
    • Male and female students compete separately.
    Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. The Most Valuable Student scholarship deadline is December 7, 2012.

    The SoroptimistViolet RichardsonAward Program
    The Violet Richardson Award program begins at the local Soroptimist club level, where the type of award
    varies. Club level winners then become eligible for one of 28 $1,000 awards. In addition, $1,000 will be
    contributed in honor of these winners to their volunteer organizations. One finalist will be chosen from
    among the 28 winners for an additional award, including a contribution of $2,500 to the finalist’s volunteer
    organization.
    If you think you would make a good Violet Richardson Award candidate, please complete this application
    and tell us about your volunteer action. Send it to the local Soroptimist club listed on the application.
    Good luck! And, even if you don’t win a Violet Richardson Award, we applaud your efforts to make your
    community and the world a better place.

    Notices and Fundraisers

    All fundraisers, publicity, posters, flyers, etc. must be pre-approved by the Dean of Students, Mr. White. Activity/Facility Use Forms are available in the office. Posters and fliers must be signed prior to hanging on school grounds.

    Parents: the scrip “One Card” is now in stock in $50 and $100 amounts. They are good at many local and online stores. Check with the office for local script too. The school receives money back every time you buy with scrip.

    Please turn in your Boxtops and Campbell Soup Labels. These programs earn money and supplies for St. Bernard’s. For a complete list of products you can log on to www.boxtops4education.com and www.labels4education.com. These can be turned into the office.

    Attention Renner card holders, did you know you can pay your Renner bill in the HS office, and the school earns 2.5%? Just make your checks out to SBCS and turn it in at the office along with your bill stub. We send Renner a check minus our percentage and earn money for our school. Haven't got a Renner card? Applications are in the HS office. Thanks for your support. Please turn in the bills by the 19th of each month.

    Reminders

    All school events, meetings, and fundraisers must have proper forms filled out and signed by the appropriate departments. Activity forms are available in the front office.
