HS: Teen Court Volunteer Training
Do you want to earn community service hours, help other teens, and
develop public speaking, decision making, and leadership skills? Do
you want to learn more about legal careers or get involved in
advocating for youth? Do all these things and more by volunteering for
Humboldt County Teen Court. Teen Court will be training students to be
volunteers on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from 4-6 pm at the Teen
Center in Eureka (corner of J Street and Harris). You must be at least
in 8th grade to volunteer. At Teen Court, volunteer jury members
listen to real cases of crimes committed by other teens. The jury
comes up with a sentence that will help teens make up for their
mistakes and get back on track. Students can also serve as attorneys,
judges, and other positions. To RSVP to the training or get more
information email humtcourt@bgcredwoods.org or call 444-0153. Come
