THANK YOU to the 48 students, parents and grandparents who participated in the SB Fall Work
Party last Sunday. Together, we weeded, trimmed trees, laid bark, planted
flowers, and painted playground lines and basketball hoops. The school is
looking awesome -- thank you! --the SB Beautification Committee
ALL: 5th-8th grade boys’ basketball teams are in need of coaches.

ALL: Spaghetti Feed
is this Friday, 5-8pm in the auditorium. Tickets will be on sale in the office
($5 for individual or family rate). All
families are encouraged to attend!
ALL: The annual Bonfire is this Friday following the
spaghetti feed! Everyone needs to
attend!!! It is the back parking lot,
Friday, Oct. 5.
ALL: the
sophomore class is selling crusader license plates. $3 each or 2 for $5. You
can buy them in the office or from any sophomore class officer.
Sophomores: All
sophomores who signed up for hall-decorating is responsible to be present this
Sunday at 10am. For more info see any soph class officer.
Elem/JH: Blessing of the Animals is this Thursday, Oct. 4 on the playground, 8:15am. All students—bring your pets or a photo for
the blessing.
ALL: Support
your Knights and 8th grade class by purchasing and wearing Knight apparel.
Pre-sale forms are in the office. Please return form and payment by Oct. 19.
Apparel will be delivered by Thanksgiving. Thank you for your support.
ALL: Pacific Islanders Luau will be held Saturday, Oct. 27 at 2pm at SB. Live entertainment,
dancing, music and lots to eat. Dessert auction too! Tickets are $15 for adults; $10 for 7-12th
graders; $6 k-6th graders; under k free.
ALL: 8th graders are selling flower bulbs to raise money for their 8th grade
trip. 12 Iris bulbs or 5 Lily bulbs for $5. Located in the office.
Parents: Earn all of your volunteer hours for the year
in one event as Chairperson for the upcoming Scholastic Book Fair, which will
take place October 22-30. If you are
interested in this wonderful opportunity, please contact our librarian, Ms.

Elem/JH: Learn to Earn—Bank Day is every Wednesday
before morning prayer.
Medieval Days will be held Sept. 29-30 at Mad River
Hospital. Please sign-up to work a shift. All elementary/junior high classes
have booths at the faire. Sign-up sheets are located at each classroom. If you
have any questions please call LaWana Schulz at 496-4755.
8th grade: There will be a meeting Monday, Oct. 1 at
5:30 in room 211 for the 8th grade class trip to be held in the spring. Please
contact LaWana Schulz at 496-4755 for more information/questions.
All: Our Music department is in need of Orff and Ethnic
Instruments, extra long jump ropes, indoor balls and hula hoops. Please contact
Mrs. Lyth if you have instruments to donate or loan the school.
HS: Teen Court
Volunteer Training
Do you want to earn community service hours, help other teens, and
develop public speaking, decision making, and leadership skills? Do
you want to learn more about legal careers or get involved in
advocating for youth? Do all these things and more by volunteering for
Humboldt County Teen Court. Teen Court will be training students to be
volunteers on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from 4-6 pm at the Teen
Center in Eureka (corner of J Street and Harris). You must be at least
in 8th grade to volunteer. At Teen Court, volunteer jury members
listen to real cases of crimes committed by other teens. The jury
comes up with a sentence that will help teens make up for their
mistakes and get back on track. Students can also serve as attorneys,
judges, and other positions. To RSVP to the training or get more
information email humtcourt@bgcredwoods.org or call 444-0153. Come
learn more about Teen Court!

break for a $1 each now through the end of football season.

Notices
and Fundraisers
All fundraisers,
publicity, posters, flyers, etc. must be pre-approved by the Dean of Students,
Mr. White. Activity/Facility Use Forms are available in the office. Posters and fliers must
be signed prior to hanging on school grounds.
Parents: the scrip “One Card” is now in stock in $50 and $100 amounts. They are good at many local
and online stores. Check with the office for local script too. The school
receives money back every time you buy with scrip.
Please turn in your
Boxtops and Campbell Soup Labels. These programs earn money and supplies for St. Bernard’s. For a
complete list of products you can log on to www.boxtops4education.com and www.labels4education.com. These can be turned
into the office.
Attention Renner card
holders, did you know you can pay your Renner bill in the HS office, and
the school earns 2.5%? Just make your checks out to SBCS and turn it in at the
office along with your bill stub. We send Renner a check minus our percentage
and earn money for our school. Haven't got a Renner card? Applications are in
the HS office. Thanks for your support. Please turn in the bills by the
19th of each month.

Calendar is located in the main office for all to sign up their event,
meeting, game, etc. If you need to use a room on campus, please check
availability on this calendar first. Facilities Use forms are also available in
the office.
All

signed by the appropriate departments. Activity forms are available in the
front office.
